Plastics waste reduction for healthier Indonesia.Jakarta - Chair of Danone Aqua Parmaningsih Hadinegoro suggested waste management, particularly plastics waste, amongst the society for achieving a healthier Indonesia.
"Participation of the community is the principal part of creating a healthy and clean environmnet," she said on press conference in Jakarta, several moments ago.
She continued Danone Aqua highlighted the commitment to achieve a healthier Indonesia by translating it to Aqua Lestari.
"We did the management of water resources from the upstreams to the downstreams," said Parmaningsih. She added the company has done water resources management on the upstreams.
Meanwhile, an integrated plastics waste management was applied on the downstreams. In 1993, they held a similar management called Peduli, coming from Indonesian language. In original language, peduli is very similar with care with something meanings.
So Danone Aqua operated in Indonesia hoped that Peduli expressed their awareness and contribution in Indonesian community.
The program aimed to convert plastics waste into economic value. In the year of 2011, the message was continued with Healthy Living From Now campaign.
"Therefore, this year, we continued the inisiative by encouraging the Everything Goes from Us campaign," she explained.
In this campaign, Danone Aqua encouraging everyone to help reducing the volume of waste by damaging the plastic bottles before throwing it to the dust bin. (*)
