President asks FPI to stop violent action.

JAKARTA - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono asked Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) to stop violance and remain vigilant. President said he followed the latest issue in social media related to clashes FPI members with communities in Kendal, Central Java last week.

"Stop violance. I ask police to maintain law and order. I believe FPI can do positive activities, useful for people and community. Peace, trust and educate people just like Prophet Muhammad PBUH. He against immoral with goodness. It makes Islam as blessings for the universe," Yudhoyono said on Tuesday.

Yudhoyono said government couldn't tolerate anyone who committed violance, vandalism, which contrary to laws and regulations in this country. He emphasized, violence in the name of religion (Islam) was unacceptable.

Chairman of Central Board at National Awakening Party (PKB), Abdul Malik Haramain asked government to freeze activities of FPI to anticipate possibility of anarchy. 

"Government must provide temporary suspension. It is necessary to protect public from backlash. Community organization cannot make sweeping exceed police authority," Haramain said. 

Police announced seven suspects linked to violent clashes. The seven suspects each of three members of FPI and four residents. FPI was allegedly hold sweeping operation which made residents angry and finally led to clashes.
