Adibah Noor to bid farewell to Suria FM.
Local actress-singer joined Star Media Group's Malay station three years ago and her stint as a radio deejay will come to an end on May 31.
This was a tweet posted by entertainer Adibah Noor with regards to news that she has resigned from Suria FM.
The singer, actress and radio deejay told Berita Harian yesterday that she has resigned from Suria FM effective May 31.
Adibah joined the private station in 2013 and was part of the morning crew together with fellow deejay Halim Othman, of Roda Impian fame.
Her decision was said to have been made after she found herself no longer being able to divide her duties between the radio station and other commitments.
"Three years is enough for me to serve and give what I believe was the best for Suria FM. Furthermore, I have never had any formal education in the broadcasting line.
Perhaps I have run out of ideas and creativity to bring Suria FM to a higher level," she told Berita Harian, adding that based on that, she decided to resign and give way to those more talented and creative.
On her Twitter account today, Adibah has been receiving words of support and encouragement from her fans.
Twitter user @nora_cintaaina wished the singer continued success, hoping for Adibah to continue entertaining her fans on Twitter.
"Kak @adibahnoor la, satu2nya deejay artis yg saya follow. Best sangat! Semoga kak diba terus sukses, lepas ni keep on entertain us here ok!" (sic).
(Adibah Noor, you're the only artiste cum deejay I follow. May you always have success, after this keep entertaining us here okay.)
User @dayahhasim lamented on how she would miss hearing the singer's voice over the airwaves, to which Adibah said she could switch on YouTube.
Adibah is well known for her song "Terlalu Istimewa" and is also famous as an emcee and a voiceover talent.
She has previously acted in films such as Sepet and Gubra, and in a few local musical theatre productions.
