17 Apr – Fans of Upin and Ipin, brace yourselves because Malaysia's most popular siblings will once again grace the silver screen! According to the production house behind the successful animation series, Les' Copaque Production Sdn Bhd, work is currently in progress for another animated movie, targeted for release next year.

Berita Harian reported that the company's public relations officer, Mohd Zarin Abdul Karim, said that it is the right moment to release a sequel to "Geng: The Adventure Begins" since the film's success in 2009.

"We feel that "Upin & Ipin" has been isolated from the silver screens long enough and it's time they made a comeback into cinemas to entertain their fans. The first film has had overwhelming support from fans; hopefully the sequel will be equally loved."

There is also be an "Upin & Ipin" theme park in the works that will be completed in 2015, Zarin continued. The theme park is conceptualised along the lines of Disneyland, to provide fun to the entire family.

Asyiela Putri, 13, voices the two little boys. They were also winners of the Most Popular Local Animated Characters at the recent Anugerah Bintang Popular Berita Harian (ABPBH) 2013.
