EXO sings new songs, but still quiet about album's release

EXO sings new songs, but still quiet about album's release.

The 10 mega idols of EXO offered a glimpse into their much-anticipated new single "Call Me Baby," showcasing nine new songs at a concert in Seoul on Sunday.

During a news conference before the concert performance at the Seoul Olympic Park's Gymnastics Stadium, the members revealed that while no exact date had been set, they are hoping to release the upcoming album's title track "Call Me Baby" shortly after the conclusion of the five-day local concert series ― The EXO'luXion.

"I can't give away too many details just yet, but what I can say is that we have finished filming the music video and are very anxious to unveil the new single to our fans, but we are not quite ready yet and don't want people to be disappointed," said leader Suho.

"We are hoping to release the song soon after we conclude our concert series and hope everyone is looking forward to it."

As Exo is noted for having one of K-pop's most dedicated fan followings, it came as no surprise that all the tickets for its concerts sold out minutes and even caused the ticket sites' servers to crash.

"I don't know if I can really pinpoint exactly why our concert tickets tend to sell so well," Suho said.

"I think it's because we have so many members and we each have different talents and characteristics from ballads to dance, we have a lot to offer. This is something I think people can really feel during our live shows with all the energy and effort we put into all our stage performances."

While teasing about their upcoming new album, EXO did unveil a slew of new songs, including the show's encore single, "Promise," which was written by member Chen and composed by Lay. The R&B ballad track ended up leaving a number of members in tears during the Sunday concert.

"I will admit I was among those who cried," said Chanyeol.

"I can't really explain why. A lot has happened with our group in the past, and I know I wasn't supposed to cry in front of the fans, but when I was looking out to the crowd and seeing all the fans holding up those signs saying 'Thank You,' and showing their love and support … it just brought tears to my eyes."

"We really had a successful year in 2014 so this song was meant as our thank you to everyone," other members added.

Along with preparations for their upcoming new album, the idol stars are also gearing up to present the group's new reality Web drama series, "EXO Next Door," which will begin airing next month via Naver TV cast and the Naver Line mobile app.
