Parliament hopes ministers' blusukan style is not merely for image building.

JAKARTA -- New ministers installed two weeks ago have made several breakthrough. Some of them imitated President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo's blusukan (impromptu visits) style. House of Representative hopes their act are not just part of their image building.

"People hope their blusukan is not just part of image building," Head of Commission IV at House of Representative Edhy Prabowo said on Tuesday, November 11. Blusukan has to be part of their way on solving problems comprehensively and effectively. "By looking at the real condition, I hope they can find solution," he said.

He said that it was important for the minister to meet with people, but the most important thing was to find a solution for their problems.

There are at least seven ministers in the cabinet who have made a breakthrough. They are Minister of Maritime and Fishery Affairs Susi Pudjiastuti, Minister of Interior Affairs Tjahjo Kumolo, Minister of State Apparatus and Bureaucratic Reform Yuddy Chrisnandi, Minister of Manpower Hanif Dhakiri, Minister of Transportation Ignasius Jonan, Minister of Forestry and Environment Siti Nurbaya, and Minister of Public Spacing Ferry Mursidan Baldan.

Minister Pudjiastuti has put moratorium on large vessels and foreign vessels. She also promises to build airports in outer islands of Indonesia.

Minister Kumolo bans regional heads to hold meetings in hotel and use luxury cars. He puts moratorium on electronic ID (e-ktp) and suggests that people have the option of either putting the religion on their ID or not. Minister Chrisnandi also puts moratorium on Recruitment Process of Civil Servant Candidates (CPNS) and asks National Narcotics Agency (BNN) to carry out test for all Civil Servant (PNS).

Meanwhile, Minister Dhakiri inspected illegal private company that supplies domestic help workers (TKI). During the inspection, he jumped the fence because all access to the house was shut. Minister Jonan asks Civil Servant to work on Saturday and Sunday. Minister Nurbaya stops granting permits for forest use as part of effort to slow down the country's rapid deforestation rate, while Minister Mursyidan Baldan imposes shift work on Saturday and Sunday.
